As BAŞARI, we organised our first workshop between 11-15 October 2021 with the aim of discussing the current intervention programmes for addicted offenders and for their families and identify needs of improvements, including by taking into consideration special needs of women addicts.
A total of 47 people including 30 psycho-social service experts working in Penitentiary and Probation services in various provinces, 7 representatives of General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses within the Ministry of Justice, 3 project experts, and 7 representatives from Ministry of Health, YEDAM and İŞKUR attended to the workshop in Ankara Point Hotel.
Key Expert and Senior Specialist on Addiction Mr. Kültegin Ögel played the main executive role in the workshop, and Senior Sociologist Ms. Deniz Kemik open debate on approaches regarding introduction of gender sensitive approach into the intervention programmes. Senior Psychological Counselor Mr. Kadir Akbulut acted as a facilitator in the workshop.

During the 5-day workshop, presentations by project experts have been discussed, followed by interactive activities. Participants’ expectations, ideas, suggestions and experiences of case studies about the current intervention programmes were debated upon to create a roadmap.
